i have installed nagios monitor few remote systems... remote scheme latency below..

i have configured nagios monitor cpu load, total processes , zombie process. send me email scheme hikes.. in additional info specifies message

(return code of 255 out of bounds)

since additional message, can ignore , trust nagios on notification ?

or because of latency between nagios server , monitored machine nagios not appropriately info ?

this message means checks failing.

you don't mechanism you're using info remote host (snmp, nrpe or have you), can't more specific, looking in nagios's log file should give more of clue what's going wrong (defined log_file in nagios config; on scheme it's /var/log/nagios3/nagios.log).
