javascript - Cross browser advanced tooltip capability on <option> tags -
today, html tags back upwards "title" attributes on major browsers. when hover on alternative in drop downwards list, title appear tooltip. event allows title display?
i should state first time asking question. in keeping guidelines, have researched quite thoroughly best of ability not expert in area. topic has been covered repeatedly there has never been definitive reply (at to the lowest degree can't find one). have coded many approaches , of them work in firefox not in other commonly used browser. have seen many dated suggestions nil after 2007 , none of them work (not ones specific ie). either missing or still have lot larn (both likely).
obviously, looking beyond simple text tooltip. display little image nearby user moves cursor on various options in select list. piece of cake in firefox (i can several ways) no other browser seems back upwards this. apparently, other browsers not back upwards mouseover or hover on alternative tags yet, title appear. there must event triggers it. why can't used?
any , ideas , suggestions gratefully accepted. give thanks you.
this not implicitly supported official dom have create custom dropdown box.
