clearcase - Add existing element to an existing dir on main -

i have da/fc@@/main/0 created new file added da@@/main/brancha/3. new file on brancha became da/fc@@/main/brancha/1

successive changes on da/fc@@/main/brancha/1 end on lastly version of da/fc@@/main/brancha/17.

then da/fc@@/main/brancha/17 merge brancha main creating da/fc@@/main/1.

however da/fc@@/main/1 not belong version of da@@main/*.

i want add together da/fc@@/main/1 da@@/main/40 da@@/main/41 contain da/fc@@/main/1.

what clearcase console commands run on linux?

make sure destination view selects /main/latest, , version created 1 expected.

main advice: utilize different view merge, 1 configure to

element * /main/latest

or create new one, preferably dynamic one.

for single file, 1 time merged, need merge parent folder too (or won't find version of folder listing file @ right version)

on destination view, display version tree of parent folder, right-click on version fc recorded (da@@/main/brancha/4), select merge to, , click on version 40.

see "how files , directories merged".

each version of rational clearcase directory element contains names of file elements, directory elements, , vob symbolic links.

now, if sure merging brancha fc only, have done merge of file and parent folder in 1 command: cleartool findmerge. see "clearcase: findmerge usage"

cd /path/to/view/avob/da cleartool findmerge . -nc -fver .../brancha/latest -merge

that have merged fc , da.

clearcase
