javascript - How to update page content when navigating back on all major browsers? -
i have simple use-case: page1 list. when clicking on list item, user goes page2 can create changes item. when navigating back, page1 should reflect changes.
note: page1 , page2 different pages server (this website not single-page webapp).
disabling cache doesn't seem solve issue. setting cache-control header no-cache, no-store works in firefox (page refreshed upon navigating back), fails in ie 11, chrome desktop, opera desktop, safari os x , safari ios. surprisingly, works on chrome android on device.
i uncertainty there way have page refreshed way on browsers, i'll inquire in case: is possible have page consistently reloaded on major browsers when navigating back?
if reply no, javascript may come rescue? illustration event(s) can hear to, , triggered when navigating back, work on major browsers.
basically, solution can have updated info in page1 when navigating back.
thanks help!
edit: tested "unload" trick explained @ cross-browser onload event , button, , doesn't work in safari on mac (v7.0.4).
