single sign on - Microsoft Azure Active Directory -
im kinda new windows server, have been checking out microsoft azure , iaas.
just question sso verse azure active directory sync.
im moving infrastructure azure, base of operations advertisement server, "dirsync" or advertisement fs server , few web servers etc. utilize google apps email, calendar , drive.
so see there 2 ways maintain advertisement directory , azure directory in sync. sso , azure active directory sync.
if utilize azure active directory sync , not setup advertisement fs on server sso, still able utilize sso azure directory apps microsoft have in azure portal?
the reason need advertisement fs server if had apps/services on site wanted utilize sso with, correct?
i plan run, kayako , crashplan in 2 vm's in azure. both utilize ldap/ad usernames/password authentication. cool sso both webapps employees can sing-on via myapps.microsoft.com portal.
the 2 ways dirsync , aad sync. refer: synchronization previews available microsoft azure active directory.
sync = same sign on between on-premise , cloud sync + adfs = single sign on between on-premise , cloudupdate
myapps.microsoft.com third-party vendors salesforce have asked microsoft add together them saas application aad. it's not company specific apps.
for company specific apps., need adfs above.
having done that, if user sso's app. , wants utilize e.g. salesforce, won't have login again.
