i'm write web application that's supposed handle dozens of reads/writes per second. i'm thinking of doing in java instead of php, doing different. question is, how heavy java on server? able handle load without consuming more 512mb of ram (vps)? i've heard memory allocation in java , consumes much don't understand how works.
