lately wanted windows phone 8 development , installed visual studio 2013 + windows phone sdk 8 + visual studio 2013 latest update. scheme parameters are: - 8gb ram - windows 8.1 64bit scheme - intel i5 moment seek run windows phone project dialog appears , says: title - " cant start windows phone emulator" subtitle - "the windows phone emulator requires hyper-v.your pc missing next pre-requisites required run hyper-v: -windows 8 professional(64 bit)"

after saw checked how upgrade normal windows 8.1 windows 8.1 professional. no luck tried find out more install hyper-v bios configuration no luck well.

usually develop on android eclipse(with emulator) can't understand reason why emulator of windows phone can't run on system.

p.s dont have hyper-v feature in windows feature list turn off/on heads each answer! :)

the error saying need windows 8.1 x64 pro or enterprise able install hyper-v. can still develop phone apps in edition of windows 8.1 have must debug on on windows phone emulator not available
