node.js - .bowerrc option to make bower install assume --save -

i noticed here there work towards adding .bowerrc alternative create bower install automatically --save.

after searching , looking in docs couldn't find way utilize it. after browsing source of both bower , bower-config couldn't find other reference it. know if implemented , can used somehow, or if it's still work in progress?
