ok, so, maybe not understand google places api, or maybe have been failing miserably next tutorials, either way, utilize help.

i making android application screen zooms located , uses google places search hard-coded string place. (ie, live in los angeles, california; closest mcdonald's located here *). , display spot on map.

when follow every single tutorial have found api key google places, (ie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pvk1ue5rvk) says need come in web address obtain 1 (see pictures below)

-- not have website or url set here writing android device. need website host url in order utilize this? there generalized url supposed utilize have not heard of? doing exclusively wrong way?

i copied , pasted code here: http://www.androidhive.info/2012/08/android-working-with-google-places-and-maps-tutorial/ , able run it, error receiving in logcat places status : request_denied makes me think need alter part of code key of own.

i indeed have google maps api key using here in application.
