i'm trying create rails app checks if google user online or not i'm not sure start.

should utilize google plus api or gmail api retrieve online status of user or there alternative or illustration can utilize reference preferably in ruby or javascript?

neither of apis give online status.in fact there isnt @ moment google api tell this, thats why cant find it.
