Github: fixing an accidental milestone or label assignment -

Github: fixing an accidental milestone or label assignment -

github has nice interface searching groups of issues, , processing them en masse -- such assigning them milestone or adding , removing labels.

unfortunately means 1 might accidentally reassign mass of issues different milestone or label, destroying carefully-thought-out information.

is there way recover in situation?

i haven't seen question asked previously. 1 workaround have protection smaller grouping of people can add/remove labels or assign tasks milestones, github's permissions don't seem allow such fine-grained control.

you wouldn't have recourse on user side (through github gui).

only github support can check if have logs of operations (possibly managed in database), , revert lastly mass-modification.
